Susquehanna Bancshares Appoints Executive VP, Chief Risk Officer

Susquehanna Bancshares, which has a wealth management division, has hired Kevin Burns as executive vice president and chief risk officer.

Burns is responsible for enterprise risk management, corporate compliance, security, information security administration, business continuity, insurance risk management, community reinvestment, and credit review.

Based at Susquehanna’s corporate headquarters in Lititz, PA, he will serve as a member of the company’s executive management team, reporting to the risk committee of Susquehanna’s board of directors.

“In light of increasing demands and regulatory focus on the discipline of risk management, it is the right time to expand the leadership team of our risk management group,” said William Reuter, chairman and CEO of Susquehanna.

With more than 18 years of experience, Burns was most recently director of governance, regulatory and risk management for Deloitte & Touche’s national banking and securities practice in Chicago. He has also worked in risk management for Bank of America, JP Morgan Chase & Co, and ABN AMRO/LaSalle Bank.
